ere are some images of the different models I’ve offered over the years. My guitars seem to fall into two categories … a collection of retro-styled instruments that often feature funky tortoiseshell pickguards and marquetry binding … or a more modern and subdued aesthetic with clear pickguards and asymetrical peghead and bridge. Thanks to viewing!
The Concert
“The Concert” has been my main model since I made the mold back in 1976. With a full 16″ lower bout it packs a good punch and because of its sonic balance, covers a lot of musical territory.
The Remuda
The Sojourn (a.k.a. The MF-Custom)
Franklin Carmichael Tribute Guitar
This particular model was a “one-off” specifically made for the Group of Seven Guitar Project that was launched in 2017 at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. for more information on this amazing group effort, go to the link at the top or bottom of this page.
Le Papillon ( P-1 )
I designed this little 14 3/4″ guitar for my daughter. For some strange reason when I was thinking of what to call it, the French word for butterfly popped into my head. I have no idea why! As I was building the prototype, “le papillon” kept rolling around my brain and I started realizing that it might be appropriate since my daughter likes to make environments conducive for caterpillars to morph into butterflies in the summer. I’m hoping using the French word isn’t cultural appropriation. Hey … some words just sound cooler en français!
The NL-1 Model
The Modern Slope MS-1
The JB-0 Model
The Concert Ukulele
I’ve really only ever made two ukes … the first was over 35 years ago for my daughter … the second was a Concert size made recently for my wife Deb. What a fun project it was, with an Alpine spruce top and rosewood back and sides!
